A man comes up to the owner of a lumberjack business and says, “I need a job and I think I’m pretty good.”
The owner replied, “Okay, show me what you can do, chop down that redwood over there.” The man said okay and left. Five minutes later he came back and was done.
The owner was shocked and asked, “How did you chop that tree down so fast?”
The man said, “I got a lot of practice in the Sahara.”
The owner replied, “You mean the Sahara desert?”
“Yes,” he said, “or at least that’s what they call it now.”
To get his mind off his losing streak at the racetrack, I took my friend horseback riding. Being a novice, he freaked when his horse took off.
“How do I get it to slow down?!” he yelled.
“Bet on it!” I hollered back.
A young woman wasn’t feeling well and asked one her co-workers to recommend a physician.
“I know a great one in the city, but he is very expensive. Five hundred dollars for the first visit, and one hundred dollars for each one after that.”
The woman went to the doctor’s office and, trying to save a little money, cheerily announced. “I’m back!”
Not fooled for a second, the doctor quickly examined her and said, “Very good, just continue the treatment I prescribed on your last visit.”
The economy is terrible.
At the beginning of the year, the politicians promised things would improve by the last quarter…
Well, I’m down to my last quarter and they haven’t improved!
Two skydivers, Harold and Lester, jumped out of the plane and were having a conversation on the way down.
Lester: “I was in a hurry this morning, and I can’t remember if I asked you to pack my chute for me.”
Harold: “I’ve been pretty forgetful myself. I’m lucky I remembered to pack mine.”
Lester: “Wait a minute. You mean I forget to ask you to pack my chute for me?”
Harold: “No, silly. You didn’t forget to ask me to pack your chute. I’m the one who actually forgot to pack your chute!”
Lester: “Phew! Thank goodness, for a minute there I thought I was losing my mind!”
